Volunteer advocates must believe in the dignity of all people and respect the rights and views of everyone.  They help people live the lives they want to and represent their views at all times.  Advocates are separate from any service providers and have no conflict of interest.

If you are interested in becoming an advocate please complete the application form included in the information pack which can be downloaded
here.  (File is in PDF format and will open in new window).

Please do not e-mail the application form back to us as it will contain personal details which cannot be encrypted.
In order to become an advocate you will need to undertake our 5 day induction course.  Details of the course can be downloaded
here.

Following the training course you will have an informal interview with the Advocacy Support Manager and a member of the Board.  If  successful, the Advocacy Support Manager will arrange to introduce you to an advocacy partner and will provide you with all the information and support you require.  After a short probationary period you will be formally accepted as a People’s Voice’s Advocate and presented with a certificate.

Please note, this is an accredited course with the Open College
